Job description

To strengthen our growing team, we are looking for a skilled and hands-on Project Manager – Naval Architecture to drive innovative marine engineering solutions from concept to production.

As Project Manager, you will act as the central link between design, engineering, classification societies, shipyards, and clients — ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest technical standards. You will not only manage the project team; we are looking for someone who is hands-on and willing to contribute directly to design tasks using the (3D) programs when needed.

This is a full-time, permanent position that will be filled as soon as a suitable person is found. 

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage vessel design projects from early design stages to production delivery.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Liaise with shipyards, boatyards, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
• Oversee class-level documentation and approvals (DNV, ISO or similar).
• Provide leadership and guidance to junior naval architects and designers.
• Contribute technically to naval architecture and marine engineering tasks:
• Structural design and verification
• Systems integration and layout
• Stability and regulatory compliance

Requirements

• Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related discipline.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in project management within a design office, shipyard, or boatyard.
• Strong technical expertise in:
  • Class-level design and statutory documentation
  • Structural engineering and scantlings
  • Marine systems design and integration
  • Design-to-production workflows
• Experience working with classification societies and international standards.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills – knowing when to lead, when to listen and when to step up (or back).
• Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional project teams.
• Proficiency with CAD/3D design tools (e.g. Rhino, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and familiarity with engineering analysis tools.
• Professional proficiency in English; Finnish is an advantage but not required.
