Job description
We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to strengthen our engineering team. In this role, you will take a key position in the design and development of electrical systems for commercial and pleasure craft, with a strong focus on small crafts and vessels under 40 meters.
As a senior professional, you are comfortable taking ownership of your work, contributing actively to technical decision-making, and collaborating closely with other disciplines. You will be involved throughout the project life cycle, from concept development to detailed engineering and production support, ensuring that electrical solutions are robust, efficient, and well-integrated.
This is a full-time, permanent position that will be filled as soon as a suitable person is found.
Responsibilities
Design and develop marine electrical systems in compliance with applicable standards and regulations
Create electrical schematics, layouts, and production-ready documentation
Design, review, and coordinate wire harnesses and electrical installations (wire harness experience is a strong plus)
Collaborate closely with naval architects, mechanical engineers, and designers to ensure system integration
Participate in concept development, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering phases
Support shipyards and production teams with technical expertise and problem-solving
Contribute to improving internal design practices and technical solutions
Communicate with clients and project stakeholders as part of the engineering team
Requirements
Bachelor or Master Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering
Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience
Proven experience in the maritime industry with small crafts and vessels under 40 meters
Hands-on experience with electrical systems is considered a strong advantage
Experience with wire harness design is a plus
Strong understanding of marine electrical systems, components, and production processes
Fluent in English (spoken and written); Finnish language skills are considered a plus
Ability to work independently and take responsibility for technical outcomes
