Job description
We are looking for an experienced Naval Architect to strengthen our naval architecture team. In this role, you will take a leading position within projects, with responsibility for the full naval architecture scope, from concept development to detailed design and production support.
You are comfortable leading projects and taking ownership, while working hands-on on naval architectural tasks. You enjoy coordinating technical work, guiding others, and acting as a technical point of contact within multidisciplinary teams.
This is a full-time, permanent position that will be filled as soon as a suitable person is found.
Responsibilities
Lead the naval architecture scope within projects, from concept to production support
Take ownership of naval architectural deliverables and technical quality
Coordinate and guide naval architecture work within multidisciplinary project teams
Perform and review hull design, stability analyses, regulatory compliance, and related calculations
Act as a technical interface towards clients, partners, and other stakeholders
Support shipyards and production teams with naval architectural expertise
Mentor and support junior team members as the team grows
Contribute to the development of internal standards, tools, and working methods
Preferred requirements
Bachelor or Master degree in Naval Architecture or equivalent professional experience
Proven experience in naval architecture with small craft and vessels under 40 meters
Proven experience in leading projects or taking a coordinating technical role
Ability to take ownership and responsibility for the full naval architecture scope within a project
Strong understanding of hull design, stability, rules & regulations, and production processes
Fluent in English (spoken and written); Finnish language skills are considered a plus
Strong self-management and organisational skills
Proactive, responsible, and solution-oriented way of working
